Brief description of aluminum oxidation technology

2023.02.07

Aluminum oxidation technology is also known as aluminum anodizing treatment. Aluminum anodizing is the process of forming a dense oxide film on the surface of aluminum in a certain electrolyte solution under the action of electric current, the electrolyte can be sulfuric acid, oxalic acid, phosphoric acid and mixed acid, etc. Anodizing is also divided into ordinary anodizing and hard anodizing, which are commonly called aluminum oxidation.

Anodizing is increasingly used in industry to form a thick and dense oxide film on the surface of aluminum to significantly change the corrosion resistance of aluminum alloys and improve surface hardness, wear resistance and decorative properties. Anodizing is currently one of the most basic and commonly used methods for surface treatment of aluminum alloys. The coloring film obtained by electrolytic coloring of aluminum and aluminum alloy has good wear resistance, sunlight resistance and corrosion resistance, and is widely used in architectural doors, windows and curtain walls. However, aluminum anodized film has high porosity and adsorption capacity, which is easily eroded by pollution and corrosive media, and must be sealed to improve corrosion resistance, pollution resistance and other properties.
